Dancing in Lansing - This Sat!
Hi all - Hey! There is a dance this Saturday night! That will be June 18 at Central United Methodist Church (CUMC), 215 N Capitol Ave in Lansing. There will be a new dancer intro at 6:30pm and the dance will begin at 7pm and end at 10.
The dance will feature the calling of Maeve Devlin from Ann Arbor, and music by Tanna And the Tall Boys. In an effort to keep things simple, we are charging everyone the member price of $10. Students $5.
The Continuing Covid precautions-
- Everyone must provide proof of full vaccination (along with a photo ID). We hope that you have gotten at least one booster.
- Masks MUST be worn at all times, except when drinking water. We will provide straws. Surgical masks are better than cloth masks. N95, or K95 are even better.
- Everyone will provide contact information after presenting vaccine credentials — email and phone number. A picture on your phone of your vaccine card is OK
- Please don’t bring snacks to share.
- If you are SICK- DO NOT Come.
A NOTE- Please, when you are at CUMC, stay on the first floor- if you bring kids with you, please make sure they stay on the first floor as well. The main floor of the Fellowship Hall (and the bathrooms and entrance hall) are the only spaces we are renting for the dance. If I understand the new policies correctly, we are not supposed to be in the carpeted space at the back of the hall, or in the two class rooms on the westside of the Fellowship Hall - thanks for observing these new requests.
MDH (Michigan Dance Heritage) is planning for Fall weekend to happen this year - Sept 23-25. This dance event is at Camp Cavell on Lake Huron near Lexington.
I’ve also been asked by the Tree Town Stomp planning committee to let you know that Tree Town Stomp- 2022, is planned for Oct 21-23 at the Concourse Hall in Ann Arbor. There is more info at: https://aactmad.org/tree-town-stomp
Our next scheduled dance in Lansing will be Saturday, Sept 17 - we hope- we’ll see how the pandemic is doing in the Fall. (But really, I don’t want to think about Fall, I was to eat strawberries and go to the beach!)
Happy Dancing, Julie LW
