Still NOT Dancing in Lansing :-(

Hi -  How are you doing in this strange new world?  Sort of feels like vacation (as I have not retired yet), but I’m just staying home, not traveling to interesting places.

Just wanted to let you know that the organizers for both the Ten Pound Fiddle (first Sat Dance) and Looking Glass Music and Arts (3rd Sat Dance) have cancelled the dance that would have been held this coming Sat, May 16, plus both the June dances- June 6 and June 20.

We’re still in a “wait and see” mode on the fall- CUMC is booked, but that is easy to change if needed.  Contra dancing would no doubt be a “super spreading” event if an infected but asymptomatic person were to be at the dance.  We want to be sure we can all dance safely before we take to the floor - sigh.

As far as I know, all spring dance weekends have been cancelled.  Last I heard CDSS was still hoping to hold some of their camps- including at Cavell here in Michigan in August.

If you need a dance fix, I’d suggest Youtube and search contra dance.  Lots of fun videos out there.  Who knows, you may even see yourself in one of them.

I’ll keep you posted when decisions are made about Fall events.

(9 weeks in and I have not touched photo albums or photos- seems when I have unlimited time it is harder to get things started or done- darn it!)
