The Looking Glass Music & Arts Association Invites You!

Welcome!

Hi There! We sure miss you all!

The Looking Glass hosts contra and square dances, workshops, and other traditional music and arts activities for adults, teens, and families. We're a volunteer non-profit family-friendly organization. Everyone is welcome, regardless of age, color, race, religion, gender, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression. You don't even need to bring a dance partner! Please join us on the dance floor soon!

  • Where? Most often at the Central United Methodist Church in downtown Lansing, sometimes at an alternate location. See Regular Dances for individual dance details.
  • How much?We have adopted a pay-what-you-can model for our dances. We suggest between $5 and $25 per dancer. Special events may have alternative pricing.
  • When? The first and third Saturday evenings September through June, from 7-10pm, with a new dancer lesson at 6:30pm. If you're new or want a refresher, come to the 6:30pm lesson!

Dancing in Lansing News
Julie Levy-Weston publishes Dancing in Lansing Thursdays before each dance. She gives updates on upcoming dances, and from around Michigan and the Midwest. If you haven't tried this yet, we encourage you to come to a dance soon. It truly is a great time, as you will see, because everyone is smiling! Come at 6:30pm for the lesson. Plus, the caller walks us through every dance before we start, to show us the steps. And we always help each other. Then be ready to have a blast with us!
